Investigations Division
The Investigations Division employs a number of experienced former law enforcement officers and other specially trained individuals as detectives and special agents to perform a large number of routine and specialized investigative tasks. They have responded around the country to investigate special prosecutions, law enforcement use of force defense and employment law issues, including New York, Massachusetts, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Georgia, Washington D.C. and other areas of the country.
Max Jackson
Chief of Detectives
Sheriff Maxwell V. Jackson (ret.) has over 39 years law enforcement experience including six years as Kane County (Utah) Sheriff and 25 years as Harrisville City (Utah) Chief of Police. He is a graduate of the 175th Session of the FBI National Academy. He has been an Adjunct Professor at Weber State University, a law enforcement instructor in several subjects and is a 2nd degree Black Belt in Isshinryu Karate.
In 2010, he was lead investigator with our office in the successful special prosecution of a sitting sheriff in rural Idaho. He has experience with investigations related to officer involved shootings and use of force defense. He has also been lead investigator on several employment law investigations involving federal and state law enforcement officers. Because of his extensive experience as a law enforcement executive, his reports and opinions have been highly regarded and effective.
